EXPLORING MEANING

​THROUGH MUSIC:

​Matt Rodgers is an EDM producer for Metamind Artistry Collective, producing within varied genres ranging from House to Acid Trance, Dubstep to Techno. Never one to adhere too heavily to popular trends, he attempts to create unique variations to mainstream electronic genres and provides a quirky, retro vibe to the sounds he creates.

A self-proclaimed auto-didact, he has pursued his education in electronic dance music thus far via practical application of courses provided across venues online, among them YouTube courses, tutorials provided by PointBlank Music School, and a massively helpful online community of artists since 2015.

He believes music is a language of transcendent meanings that are hard to articulate verbally, not simply an artistic skill, and having learned several verbal languages in addition to English, has stated that his current goal is now to "learn to speak Music" and to generate moods through his work that can help those who suffer from chronic depression & PTSD.

Among his stated personal influences and inspirations are New Order, Kraftwerk, Daft Punk, Armin Van Buuren, Puscifer, Nine Inch Nails, & Massive Attack, Fernanda Martins & Amelie Lens.

2021 - Jarhead Returns ...but now as Lost Pr3acher. It has been a long, long ride down and it will be a long climb back up. In short, // Am divorced // Am a record producer since 2018 // Am back into traditional art, both drawing and painting // Just got a new digital drawing tablet, a Ugee // Am moved from TX to GA. // Am now a powerlifter with a rehabilitative coach (who is the coach of the US competitive team. He knows how to help rehabilitate injuries and has been helping me over come mine). // I miss a lot of you, but have kind of clamshelled for 8 years. The isolation is over. Much love. I have just completed a five hour painting that I consider one of the best and deepest that I have ever done. I am so happy with how far my style has matured. I have so far to go... but for some reason, I am looking forward to struggling into it.

Hey darlin!

A very large amount of STUFF has happened since I was regular on here before. I've gone full-tilt into techno, trance, house, etc., and got signed to a label! I produce/compose/play the music and make tracks for DJs, though in the future I'd love to get a chance to do that part as well. I have a small DJ controller but it's production I tend to be better at lol. If you want a look at my work, I'm on a lot of different places. Oh nice! Music is very good..sounds like it should be in movies. If things keep going the way they seem to be for you you'll probably have a pretty good chance of doing exactly that. Of you know as happy as I am for you and the awesome music and successfulness you're enjoying..I do still miss the visual art. You're very good at doing that as well and I was looking forward to more of your squiggle language art..and other visual art in general. But as busy as you are now I know you probably don't have time for it anymore. Glad to hear so much good news from you though and I do still love the music. And I will be looking forward to your music being featured in a movie eventually.

Thank you much for the encouragement! I'm pursuing this endeavor as I did the Marine Corps and hopefully I'll get even better results lol. It will take borderline obsession since the music industry is what it is. My mind has somehow moved on from doing graphic art and has settled for using the skills to make album art and music video thingies, supporting the music I'm making and keeping it original. This is also, of course, cheaper than hiring a graphic designer to make me artwork, and I don't have to argue with a 2d party about my own art. I'm glad you are enjoying the music!
